The fee-assisted places programme supports talented children from less affluent backgrounds to access a world-class Uppingham education.
It is both the historic mission of the School and our vision for the future to create a balanced pupil community, chosen for character and potential.
We are proud to be supporting 13 talented pupils from financially disadvantaged backgrounds in the 2022/23 academic year, solely funded by generous donations from OUs and parents. Ultimately, our vision is to make this opportunity available to as many young people as possible, with the target of becoming ‘means blind’ within the next century.
By using donations to the Forward Fund and Legacy gifts to build the Fee-Assisted Places Fund, we aim to reduce the financial barriers that limit access to Uppingham and ensure that our pupil body is made up of, and strengthened by, a diverse range of individuals from communities throughout the UK.
Fee-Assisted Places Programme Report Changemakers Campaign
With Emily’s offer came an emotional household, almost disbelief that both our children can be so heavily invested in by people that don’t know us as a family, yet they are prepared to take a chance to give them the opportunities that an Uppinghamian constantly receives.
